Per 50 g bar
Ingredients
- 60 g amaranth
- 1 scoop Protéalpes no-sugar-added chocolate whey (30 g)
- 60 g maple syrup, more or less to taste
- 120 g creamy salted peanut or almond butter
Steps to follow
Step 1
Boil amaranth in 2 parts water for 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 2
Add the peanut or almond butter and maple syrup to a medium bowl and mix.
Then add the protein powder and mix.
Step 3
Add the cooked amaranth a little at a time until you obtain a soft paste texture.
Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and press to form an even layer. Cover with parchment paper or plastic wrap and use a flat-bottomed object to press the mixture into an even, firm layer.
Step 4
Transfer to the freezer and leave to harden for 10-15 minutes, or until firm to the touch.
Lift and cut 6 bars for these quantities, adding melted dark chocolate if you wish.
Nutritional advice
The bars can be kept for a month in the freezer. To vary textures and avoid fatigue, these bars can be paired with a chocolate whey shaker recipe. Depending on your hunger, take one or the other to maintain a regular intake.
