How to gain weight healthily?

When bulking up, the aim is to increase calorie and protein intake in order to build muscle mass. This intake must be complemented by appropriate weight training exercises.

45 to 55 kcal/kg/day

To support weight gain, you need to consume 45 to 55 kcal/kg/day over a period of several months.

Be careful, not all calories are equal. We recommend not overeating and getting these extra calories from high-quality ingredients as part of a varied and balanced diet.

1.8 to 2 g/kg/day of protein

In addition to calorie intake, scientific literature generally recommends protein intake of 1.8 to 2.2 g/kg/day during periods of weight gain.

Although there is no risk at 2.2 g/kg/day, at Protéalpes we recommend an intake of 1.8 to 2 g/kg/day, which will be just as effective.

Calorie and protein intake are only useful when combined with high-intensity strength training (weight training), which stimulates muscle fiber development.

Creatine is a compound recognized as being healthy in the long term and as having an ergogenic effect. Although it has no direct effect on weight gain, creatine is beneficial for maximizing muscle power and optimizing performance during intense exercise. The only downside is that I find the mixability could be a little better. There are always little bits that don't mix in, giving the last sip a slightly gritty texture.
