Nourishing Your Muscles: Protein Intake After Exercise and in Daily Life
Exercise increases muscle catabolism and, as a result, protein requirements. An adequate intake of amino acids is therefore essential to support protein synthesis, both during the recovery phase and on a daily basis—especially when animal proteins make up only a small portion of the diet.
Pea protein isolates are dietary supplements for sports nutrition that:
- They are rich in BCAAs—that is, leucine, isoleucine, and valine
- Are very easy to digest
- Have a naturally complete amino acid profile, including all 9 essential amino acids
Objectives :
- Supplement your daily protein intake, especially if you follow a vegetarian, vegan, or flexitarian diet
- Meeting the protein needs of both strength sports and endurance sports
- Like all proteins, it helps increase and maintain muscle mass
- Provide amino acids to support the repair of muscle fibers used during training
Respect for the environment and for people

- An ingredient from organic farming, certified by Ecocert FR
- Non-GMO seeds, produced in-house by Puris
- North American producers under direct contract with Puris, a family-owned company
- Yellow peas naturally enrich the soil because this legume fixes nitrogen from the air, and it requires little water
- A transatlantic crossing entirely under sail with Grain de Sail, to reduce the carbon footprint of transportation from the U.S.
How does it differ from other plant-based proteins on the market?
Plant-based proteins often lack traceability: extracted primarily in Asia from raw materials sourced from the United States and/or Asia, they pass through numerous intermediaries. That’s why we chose Puris, a family-owned American company with a rare, integrated business model that spans the entire process from seed to powder: non-GMO varieties developed in-house, organic peas grown in North America by contract farmers, and extraction carried out in its own facilities. As a result, every batch can be traced back to the field.
Our in-house expertise is based in Albertville, in the heart of the Alps. There, our teams handle formulation, packaging, and shipping on-site, without any subcontractors. Our products are designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the European standard NF EN 17444, an anti-doping standard that replaced the French standard NF V94-001.
It is a voluntary program designed to limit the risk of doping substances—a well-documented risk: nearly 15% of the 634 supplements included in an international study (purchases made in 2000–2001) contained undeclared anabolic steroids (1).

Terms of use
- Pour 250–300 ml of liquid (water, plant-based milk, or a mixture) into a shaker, then add 1 serving of organic plant-based protein.
- Mix in a shaker, shaking up and down.
- Finish with light circular movements of the shaker*.
*As we don't use lecithin (a foam-reducing surfactant), a light layer of foam may appear after mixing too vigorously. This is perfectly normal and will disappear within a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions
What is pea protein?
Pea protein is derived from yellow peas, a legume. Our isolate is mechanically filtered without solvents, which allows the pea proteins to be separated and concentrated without denaturing them, before being dried to produce a fine powder.
Pea proteins consist mainly of globulins (legumin and vicilin) and albumins. Composed of amino acids, they have a naturally complete amino acid profile, containing all the essential amino acids. Peas are particularly rich in arginine and lysine and are among the plant sources highest in BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, valine), which play a vital role in muscle building. Their more moderate methionine content is easily supplemented as part of a varied diet.
Is the classic range a gainer?
A weight gainer is a protein product that often contains more carbohydrates than protein. Ideally, it should contain 20–25 g of protein and about three times as many carbohydrates. The goal is to provide, in addition to protein, plenty of calories to support muscle tissue growth and “bulk up.” Our classic line is therefore not a weight gainer. It contains only the minimum amount of carbohydrates necessary for optimal protein absorption and a slight replenishment of glycogen.
Few brands offer sweetened protein products made with real sugar. These natural sugars—compared to artificial sweeteners like sucralose or aspartame, which are up to 650 times sweeter—inevitably add volume and mass to our blend, resulting in a slightly lower protein concentration per 100 g of finished product. After mixing in a shaker, we’ve ensured that the carbohydrate concentration is around 5%, allowing for optimal rehydration combined with recovery.
Why should you consume pea protein?
Pea protein is suitable for athletes to support post-workout muscle recovery, growth, and adaptation, as well as to protect muscle fibers during exercise. It is also an excellent source of amino acids to supplement daily protein intake, particularly as part of a vegetarian, vegan, or flexitarian diet, or for weight management.
Do you add BCAAs to your plant-based protein?
We do not add any protein or amino acid supplements. Most of the amino acids come from our pea isolate, which is one of the plant-based sources richest in BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, valine) and arginine. The rest comes from our unprocessed secondary ingredients (such as cocoa), although this amount is negligible. When you see “BCAA,” “L-leucine,” or “EAA” listed in the ingredients, it means the product has been artificially enriched with highly processed ingredients—something we strongly advise against.
